Italian luxury house Valentino SpA, owned by Mayhoola, an investment fund backed by the Qatari Royal family, has recently confirmed the opening summer of 2014 – making New York home to its largest global flagship store to date.
The new Valentino flagship store in NYC will cover 20.000 sqf and will be housed within the former Takashimaya building at 693 Fifth Avenue. The store will focus on accessories, both bags and shoes, which are the highest growing categories in Valentino sales. Like all new Valentino stores, the Fifth Avenue store will be designed by British architect Sir David Chipperfield.
The annoucement of the new Fifth Avenue location follows the brand’s new strategy plan presented in March, to open larger single stores in major cities around the world.
