In “Leaves of the Tree,”a mystical tree, shrouded in religious lore, leads a once powerful lawyer sidelined by a life threatening disease, to remote Sicily to discover the secret of the tree’s medicinal leaves. “The Tree” intersects faith, doubt and belief for all those that come into contact with its unique ability to heal.
The film, which was shot through out Italy, including at Castellammare del Golfo, Trapani, Erice and Sicily, features beautiful locations with ruins, castles, olive groves, and villages visited by a dying man, portrayed by award-winning actor Eric Roberts. His character struggles to discover the secret of a mystical tree’s healing leaves.
The film also stars Sean Young, Armand Assante, Federico Castelluccio, introducing Sarah Sebastiana, with Patrick Gorman, Ozman Sirgood, TylerHollinger, and Sewell Whitney.
“Leaves of the Tree” is the feature directorial debut of Ante Novakovic, from a screenplay by Executive Producer/Lead Producer David Healey and Novakovic, based on Healey’s book “Kindness for the Damned: Intrigue, Love, and Redemption in Sicily.” The film, a Gogi Productions LLC production in association with CICI Films, was also executive produced by Rebecca Healey and Marc Jacobson, and produced by Donna McKenna, Joanna Lu, Perla Montemayor, Ante Novakovic, and Kresh Novakovic and co-produced by Claudio Colomba.
The movie is gaining rave reviews at film festivals through out the world.
