The beauty of Sardinia makes it an easy decision to invest in a home property
There is a beautiful place that presents a different concept of time and space: this is Sardinia. In a world that seems to go too fast, people need to calm down and find a balanced life. Life can’t be always a rush, can it? In this article, I give you 5 reasons why you should invest in a home property in Sardinia.
Territory
With an area of about 24,000 sq km and 1,66 million inhabitants, Sardinia is probably the best place on earth to live in. Sardinia is made up of mountains, manly massive highlands and hilly areas. For instance, the Campidano area, which spreads from the Gulfs of Cagliari to Oristano, is the only flat area. The coast is composed of rocky and sandy beaches one more beautiful than another. It is also 1,800 kilometres long. Whatever you want to do: walking on the beach or up to a hill, do surfing, do trekking on the mountains – you can do it. The variety of the island gives you the opportunity to choose amongst a wide range of activities.
History
Traces of a glorious past are still remarkable. Sardinia is an ancient island with 8,000 years of history starting from 6000 BC. Signs of previous settlements are the fascinating Nuraghe, archeological sites built around 1800 BC. Plenty of history and mystery, these stone towers are about 7,000 spread all over the island. They were probably built as a defense purpose. However, their original function is still unknown. Other significant symbols are the ‘domus de janas’ (fairy houses, the ‘Tombe dei Giganti’ and the Menhirs, all of them built in the Bronze Age. Traces of previous invaders such as Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans may be found in the towns of Nora, Tharros and Cagliari.
The Lifestyle
There’s no traffic and you never get stressed during the day! Food is amazing and various. From a different range of meat such as lamb, pig or beef, to fresh fish every day. Everyday you’d be thankful to be alive and try so many different kind of tastes without traveling or moving from one place to another. Many people still make fresh foods daily. A main course might comprise of ravioli, culurgiones (Sardinian stuffed pasta) or malloreddus (Sardinian gnocchi). What I like most of the Sardinian people is the hospitality. Despite at a first sight, they might seem introvert, once they get to know you, they’d give you everything they have including food and shelter. During dinners and special occasions, their tables are always full with plenty of delicious food from the main course to sweetness and dessert such as seadas (Sardinian honey and cheese pastries), home baked traditional cakes and liquor.
Strategic Position
Located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, its position is strategic. It means that you can jump on a flight or a ferry whenever you want. Three airports, in Olbia, Alghero and Cagliari offer many flight connections to some of the most important international cities and countries. It makes the island unique and special at the same time. Despite the presence of the sea, traveling has never been so easy thanks to the cheap flights based on the island and the short distance to some European cities. In less than 2 hours, for example, you can easily reach London.
Properties in Front of the Sea
If your dream is waking up in front of the sea and being able to breath pure and clean air, instead of pollution, Sardinia is the right place for you. Sardinia is also known for its lovely weather throughout the year. What about drinking a traditional espresso and having breakfast in front of a sandy and white beach? The good news regards the price of the home properties which has been significantly reduced. Therefore, there’s plenty of villas and houses that are waiting to be bought.
So, do you really need other reasons to invest in this lovely island?
