Classic Miami design with European and Italian flair in a Portofino-style development
Piero Lissoni is an internationally renowned Italian architect. His career began in 1978 when, after the graduating in architecture at the Politecnico of Milan, he started working as Art Director & Designer at Boffi kitchens and a few years later, in 1986, he founded the architecture studio Lissoni Associati. They now have offices for their varied firms in Milan, New York, Miami and Tokyo.
The firms latest project is the new Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach is a seven acre property that comprises 111 condominiums, as well as a limited collection of 15 standalone properties designed by Piero Lissoni. Surrounded by tropical landscaping, the development features a wealth of luxury amenities including gardens, entertainment spaces, cultural experiences, and even a private marina.
Piero Lissoni recently unveiled plans for a series of Miami penthouses to be built within his first architectural project in the United States. The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach, has been dubbed “Villa Lissoni.” The collection includes five expansive residences, which have been conceived in their entirely by the Italian architect and designer — even down to the furniture and appliances.
The 3,800-square-foot house at 4701 North Meridian Avenue is one of 15 standalone villas planned for the development now under construction in Mid-Beach. Each villa is priced from $4 million to $7 million, including eight that will be along a canal and seven that will be on the street.
“We tried to design something absolutely very different,” Lissoni said of the villa. “We tried to do something not in a classic Miami style — something more European, and something more Italian.”
The most expensive property is a $40 million dwelling combining two penthouses to create an 8 bedroom property with 10 bathrooms and a private hammam spa. Other facilities include two swimming pools with adjoining hot tubs, two private plunge pools, a wine room, and a screening room.
