Catwalk to be held in celebration of new flagship store
The Italian luxury fashion house of Valentino is exceptionally hosting the Fall / Winter 2015 Haute Couture catwalk show in Rome, instead of Paris, on July 25th 2015.
While Rome does host a small Fashion Week twice a year, it doesn’t boast nearly as many big names as its Parisian counterpart, and Valentino will only move its show for one season in order to celebrate the grand opening of its Roman flagship store, which is housed inside the historic palace Piazza Mignanelli.
Valentino’s Creative Directors Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri will host the Haute Couture catwalk in celebration of the opening of Valentino’s mega-flagship store in Rome, on Piazza di Spagna, an iconic location in the Italian capital city, covering 1,500 sqm.
Italian media reports that Qatar’s Mayhoola which owns Valentino invested over 100 million euros to acquire the real estate.
The house’s last fashion show in the Italian capital was held in 2007, when founder Valentino Garavani retired.
Valentino Couture will head back to Paris in January for the spring 2016 show, but fashion enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing what the label does to celebrate its short (but special) Roman holiday.
