The Limoncello of Sorrento could not have had that intense flavor, perfume, round and at the same time pungent if it was not prepared from lemons that are grown in Sorrento. This yellow liquor is perfect to round off a good lunch or a hearty dinner,very refreshing and able to activate digestion. In Campania drinking Limoncello as a digestive is a real tradition, just as equal as coffee.
The production of Limoncello of Sorrento is still made just like it was in the past, a production that was handed down from generation to generation and which has remained unchanged in spite of the world that has become faster paced, more modern and on the move. To tell you the truth there has been some change, Limoncello liqueur in fact is no longer so little known that you can only find in Sorrento, and the other towns of the coast, today it is a product that is marketed all over the world and that everyone knows about. Despite its’ fame and its’ life as a star, Limoncello still contains within itself the flavor of the past, genuine things, a way of life that we have now unfortunately lost, but in a nice glass of liquor we can always recover.
