Comitti Wooden Boat Company in Italy from the shores of Lake Como
Founded in 1956, Comitti adheres to the old school Italian boatbuilding tradition, using only the finest materials in the world. Boat builder Mario Comitti began building high speed launches on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. From the start his boats combined the craftsmanship, style and engineering genius for which Italy is renowned. The Italian passion for speed was expressed in his boats, which were at the forefront of experimental design. His son Elia raced the boats which acquired fame as he won numerous prizes. The racing forced the designs to develop. There developed a classical design above the water. A flared bow curves sensually back to a tumble home stern. This elegance remains with them today. It is the signature from the shores of Como and easily distinguished worldwide by those recognizing boating prestige.
Even Victoria’s Secret Aussie stunner Miranda Kerr was in Sydney recently, where she was spotted cavorting aboard a classic mahogany Comitti motor launch, La Dolce Vita as the vessel is called. The 26-foot Portofino model can do 47 knots in high style.
