Marking this as the fourth time she’s posed for the Italian fashion house
The Material Girl first appeared in a Versace campaign in 1995, when she was shot by photographers Steven Meisel and Mario Testino.
Now, hot off her nipple-revealing photo spread in Interview magazine, Madonna has been named the face of Versace’s spring 2015 campaign, marking this as the fourth time she’s posed for the Italian fashion house, and taking over from Lady Gaga.
Madonna sizzles in front of the lens for the Italian fashion brand’s spring-summer 2015 campaign. Captured by renowned photographers, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the singer and actress is clad in a fitting black leather dress.
Madonna effortlessly balances her attitude and style by sitting on the edge of a chair. The black and white images also highlight the superstar’s well-sculpted body. The Versace Spring/Summer 2015 campaign captures the unapologetic and timeless power of Madonna in New York. Styled by Jacob K, her hair was done by Garren and make-up by Lucia Pieroni.
Donatella Versace, the creative director of the Italian fashion house, is excited about her decision to rope in the 56 year old star as the face of the collection. She announced that, “Madonna is one of the true Versace icons. I’m thrilled to have not only a dear friend, but also today’s leading artist and icon, as the face of Versace.”
Madonna also makes a complementary statement, “It’s always exciting to wear Versace and experience the creativity and passion that Donatella has put into this collection.”
