Despite the strong growth in online sales, designers still have faith in brick and mortar
Tod’s just opened a new store at 139 NE 39th Street in Miami at the Miami Design District. The store marks as the second Tod’s store to open in Florida joining Tod’s Bal Harbour.
New York-based architectural firm Bonetti & Kozerski designed the 2,400-square-foot store with luxurious materials such as concrete floors and 15-foot “Vacchetta” leather walls. The store also features a grey marble and mirror runway, dark wood floating shelves, steel accented sofas, and moveable interior folding walls that double as a 60-foot projection screen.
The Miami Design District store carries the Italian company’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, and limited edition styles that commemorate the store opening.
Tod’s currently operates 14 stores in the US in Atlanta; Bal Harbour and Miami in Florida; Bellevue, WA; Beverly Hills and Costa Mesa in California; Chicago; Dallas and Houston, TX; Las Vegas; New York City and three stores in Hawaii in Waikiki and at Ala Moana and Honolulu Airport in Hawaii.
Santoni has recently opened its second U.S. mono-brand store in Miami within Bal Harbour. In keeping with the brand’s DNA, the interior of the Bal Harbour store was designed by architect Patricia Urquiola, who was also responsible for the interior inside Santoni’s New York and Milan flagships.
The brand founded in 1975 by Andrea Santoni, is notorious for offering the Italian footwear classics, which include leather monk-strap shoes and polished brogues. Nonetheless, Santoni’s new Miami store location shall not solely satisfy the needs of its male clientele, but also those of female customers.
The first Santoni boutique opened in New York on Madison Avenue in 2014. The Miami opening marks the 28th store location of the brand which has boutiques located across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
Valentino has opened a new boutique in Doha, Qatar Mall Of Qatar. Following in Valentino’s latest innovations within the design of their stores, renowned British architect David Chipperfield collaborated with Valentino Creative Direction to create a breath-taking setting.
With the feeling of a Palazzo, gone are the days of stark showroom vibes as luxurious materials were used throughout, including terrazzo stone wall panels and palladiana marble flooring. The boutique offers both women and men’s collections, including ready to wear, accessories and perfumes. Exclusive services like men’s made to measure are also available in one of the two VIP areas, for the brand’s most elite clientele.
FENDI has opened two new stores in Australia, in Sydney at Westfield CBD and in Melbourne at Chadstone. Both Fendi boutiques are inspired by the maison’s Roman roots, offering an interior charm of old-world finishings and modern details.
The boutiques will offer women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessory collections designed by Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi.
In celebration of the openings, Fendi has created an exclusive and limited edition leather goods and accessories capsule collection. This includes the iconic Fendi Faces Peekaboo, Strap You and Bag Bug for women and the limited edition Fendi Faces collection for Men.
Fendi at Chadstone, Melbourne opened December 1st and FENDI Westfield Sydney opened to the public on Thursday December 15.
Just Cavalli has opened a new store in South Africa, in Cape Town. The new store in Cape Town is located at Showroom 5, Hudson Building, Hudson Street. The store features women’s and men’s ready to wear and accessories collections.
Furla has recently opened a new store in London at 71 Brompton Road. This follows the success of its standalone Regent Street store, and continues to strengthen the brand’s presence in the UK.
Located in the heart of the high-end shopping district of Knightsbridge, the new store is set across two floors, occupying 280 sq m. It houses the brand’s women’s bag and leather accessory offering, with its men’s collection on the lower ground floor alongside two areas dedicated entirely to footwear.
