Celebrities join forces in a captivating setting for charity
ROME, Italy – From Sept. 5 to Sept. 11, stars including Sir Elton John, Steven Tyler and David Foster are joining Andrea Bocelli to take part in a series of charity events in Rome, including an evening at the Colosseum.
The four-year anniversary was celebrated at a kick-off evening with an exclusive rooftop dinner at a five-star hotel in the capital. Celebrities were able to enjoy breathtaking views of the slopes of Monte Mairo in Rome. A philanthropist guest list of 200 arrived directly from New York on a jumbo jet and were hosted by the maestro Andrea Bocelli and his wife Veronica Berti.
On Friday, September 8th, Sir Elton John, Steven Tyler and David Foster will be among those performing on a stage set up within the Colosseum. They will be accompanied by the JuniOrchestra and the choir from the Musical Academy of Santa Cecilia. A reception at the Galleria Doria Pamphilj will be a part of the special evening.
Some others scheduled be perform over the festival include Chris Botti, Brooks & Dunn, and The Band Perry as well as celebs George Clooney, Sophia Loren and Nicolas Cage just to name a few.
The Andrea Bocelli Foundation supports numerous educational projects, which has recently included the reconstruction of a school in the Macerata province, which was destroyed by the 2016 earthquake in the region.
All proceeds from the event will be shared between the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, the Barrow Neurological Institute and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.
