Italian luxury pen brand shares in effort to help find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease
In addition to their worldwide reputation for making exquisite handmade pens, Italian brand Montegrappa is also known for a giving heart.
Montegrappa C.E.O. Giuseppe Aquila says it was an easy and quick decision to join in a collaboration with Australian visual artist Timothy John in creating the Tulip for Team Fox pen collection. A portion of the proceeds from every purchase will help fund the Michael J. Fox Foundation and its efforts to help find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.
The collection was conceived and designed by Australian visual artist Timothy John, a Montegrappa ambassador, collaborator and friend, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017.
Beautiful expression is something all aficionados of fine writing hold dear. But for an estimated five million people living with Parkinson’s Disease, formulating even the simplest thoughts can be an arduous, painful ritual. This Solidarity Edition helps fund research for a cure. It’s built to go wherever you go, with a sculpted tulip pocket clip to pronounce love and compassion as your guides.
The pens (fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint), handmade in Italy, feature steel pocket clips designed by John in the shape of a tulip, which has been the global symbol of Parkinson’s awareness since the 1980s. The resin barrel’s orange hue reflects the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s signature color, while the resin cap is tulip red. The Tulip for Team Fox pen comes in a complementary orange and red presentation box.
