Grazia Solazzi grew up in Northern Italy, in Asola, a small town in Lombardy. Her family surrounded her with a love of food, which she quickly became very interested in, often helping and intently learning while in the kitchen.
Eventually, it was easy to see her career later in life would be focused on food. She started writing articles for the Italian magazine “Food” while studying business and economics at the University of Parma in the Emilia-Romagna region, where she stayed for 10 wonderful years. Later, Grazia and her husband lived in Amsterdam and Milano, where she earned a master’s degree in journalism. She also worked for websites and freelanced for food and travel publications, including “Slow Food.”
They moved to Portland Oregon in 2001, and have been busy raising three kids, juggling family, work — and getting dinner on the table quickly.
Grazia greatly enjoys living in Portland, a city enthusiastic about food — but feels even more blessed to have the opportunity to spend summers in Lerici, Italy, a coastal village close to the Cinque Terre. It’s a one-hour drive from Parma and Florence, featuring some of the best authentic Italian flavors.
Today, as an Italian food writer, focusing on italian recipes and Italian traditional cooking ingredients, Grazia hopes to share these with you, through her new app and food blog — Cook With Grazia
