Recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios
On Friday, November 29, 2024, acclaimed Italian singer Giada Valenti unveiled the Deluxe Edition of her Christmas album, “Love Under the Christmas Tree”.
Originally released last year, the album featured 11 tracks, including duets with country music legends Vince Gill, Trace Adkins, and Johnny Reid. She even had Trace Adkins sing a large part in Italian. Trace, who has a deep love for Italy and its cuisine, found singing in Italian challenging, but he did an outstanding job. This new edition expands the collection with five additional songs, all recorded with the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London.
Among the new tracks is the poignant song “Giving”, a tribute to the legendary composer Henry Mancini in celebration of his centennial, 100 Years of Henry Mancini. The Deluxe Edition also includes two stunning renditions of “Mary, Did You Know?”—one in English and one in Spanish. Both versions feature a breathtaking arrangement by Grammy-winning Jorge Calandrelli and showcase the masterful guitar work of the late Ramón Stagnaro, whose artistry is fondly remembered.
Valenti’s Deluxe Edition is a heartfelt continuation of her tradition of infusing Christmas music with elegance, emotion, and timeless artistry.
Giada Valenti: “Recording my Christmas album was a dream come true, surrounded by legendary musicians who brought magic to every note. Nathan East, a dear friend and one of the greatest bassists of all time, has shaped the most iconic records over the last 30 years with artists like Eric Clapton. Anthony Wilson, who plays guitar with Diana Krall, and Tariqh Akoni, known for his work with Josh Groban, all made this project unforgettable.
Working with the legendary Jorge Calandrelli, whose arrangements have graced icons like Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett, and Chris Walden, whose brilliant arrangements and past collaborations have been a joy, brought such elegance to the music. Shelly Berg’s piano and arrangements, paired with Gregg Field’s incredible production and drumming, elevated everything to perfection.
I love Christmas, and this is my first Christmas album—hopefully the first of many—but this one will forever hold a special place in my heart. Recording at Capitol Records and Abbey Road Studios with for this project was pure magic. My wish is that this album becomes a soundtrack to joyful moments around the world, bringing love and warmth to everyone—especially under their tree this holiday season”.
