The first and only authentic Italian lifestyle event in Australia
After two successful years in the streets of Melbourne, La Dolce Italia will take centre stage into one of Melbourne’s most iconic buildings, the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. For the first time, La Dolce Italia will be over three consecutive days 10-12 August 2012.
La Dolce Italia s a unique celebration of everything Italian, and will showcase the best of Italian food, wine, fashion, tourism, sport and art, all together under the one roof transforming the Royal Exhibition Building into ‘Little Italy’ for the duration.
There will be so many things to see and do, from fashion parades to food and wine masterclasses, from sport to arts and crafts.
Food lovers will be able to indulge in Italian specialties and sample Italian wines by visiting the many stalls or by attending the ‘Italian Table’ restaurant. This temporary restaurant will be set up especially for La Dolce Italia, providing visitors with a fine dining experience. Chefs will prepare a four course lunch menu and a seven course degustation dinner, all matched with Italian wine varietals.
Inspired by the Slow Food Movement, fresh food markets will celebrate the fine Australian produce that has been grown with Italian love.
La Dolce Italia plans to bring a piece of Milan to Melbourne, with some of the biggest fashion houses set to take centre stage. Visitors will be able to witness the very best Italy has to offer in men’s, women’s and children’s fashion, jewellery, accessories and cosmetics.
Other attractions include Venetian masks, puppets and Murano hand-blown glass.
This is Australia’s premier celebration of the Italian lifestyle, and an estimated 25,000 people are expected to join in the festivities.
