Panerai debuts limited edition models and their eco-friendly dedication
The 2021 “virtual” edition of Watches & Wonders, showcased that iconic Italian brand Panerai, has proven itself to be one of the few watch brands that kept very busy over the pandemic. Here is a brief summary of their highlights.
Panerai Submersible eLAB-ID PAM01225
The PAM 01225 contains the highest percentage of recycled materials ever in a watch – thus positioning Panerai at the forefront of the movement towards more environmentally responsible and sustainable watch manufacturing. The Submersible eLAB-ID is constructed from 98.6% recycled-based materials by weight. The case, sandwich dial, and bridges are all composed of EcoTitanium. This lightweight aerospace-grade titanium alloy is made of more than 80% pure recycled material.
In addition, the Submersible eLAB-ID is the first watch to use 100% recycled SuperLuminova on its dial and hands and 100% recycled silicon for its movement escapement. Both materials are collected through dedicated, small-scale recycling processes that reuse raw material waste.
The watch is planned to go on sale as a 30-piece limited edition in 2022 with a price of US$61,700.
Panerai Luminor Marina eSteel PAM1358, PAM1356 & PAM1157
Continuing with eco-friendly materials, the Luminor Marina eSteel watches also use recycled metal alloys. 89g of the eSteel components are made of recycled-based materials, corresponding to 58% of the watch’s total weight. The case and dial of Luminor Marina eSteel models feature the new recycled-based steel alloy, with the straps and storage box made of recycled materials as well.
These three models are:
- PAM1358: 44mm brushed case in eSteel, polished Grigio Roccia gradient eSteel (grey) dial, recycled PET Grey Strap.
- PAM1356: 44mm brushed case in eSteel, polished Verde Smeraldo gradient eSteel (green) dial, recycled PET Green Strap.
- PAM1157: 44mm brushed case in eSteel, polished Blu Profondo gradient eSteel dial (blue), recycled PET Blue Strap.
Panerai Luminor Chrono 44mm PAM1110, PAM1218 & PAM1109
On the new Luminor Chronographs, the controls have been relocated to the left-hand side of the watch. This is actually where they were on Panerai’s first chronograph watches. The new Caliber P.9200 automatic chronograph movement powers the watches. It is an efficient, high-performance automatic single barrel movement with a 42-hour power reserve and waterproof up to 100m.
The unique bracelet design takes its inspiration from the signature crown protectors found on all Luminor watches.
These models are:
- PAM1110: 44mm stainless steel case, blue dial with satiné soleil finishing, brushed and polished steel bracelet.
- PAM01218: 44mm stainless steel case, white matte finish dial, black alligator leather strap plus additional blue rubber strap.
- PAM01109: 44mm stainless steel case, black matte finish dial, black alligator leather strap plus additional black rubber strap.
Panerai Luminor Chrono Monopulsante GMT Blue Notte PAM01135
PAM01135 will be produced in a limited number of only 200 pieces. Featuring a ceramic case measuring 44mm and equipped with front and back (darkened) sapphire crystals, while being resistant to 100 meters of water pressure. Situated is a single button chronograph feature, and hand-wound Caliber P.2004 with an 8-day power reserve. A beautiful look to the taste of luxurious watch enthusiasts with its dark leather and rubber straps fixed on the eye-catching Blu Notte dial, with the dark sandblasted tones of the ceramic case.

Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01303
This limited edition of Panerai’s PAM1303 advanced chronograph, celebrates the achievements of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailboat racing syndicate.
Waterproof up to 100 meters, the watch is somewhat similar to the PAM1110, PAM1218, and PAM1109, with primarily just aesthetic differences and Luna Rossa branding. The straps with the PAM01303 come with two bi-material rubber/fabric options in slightly different colors.
PAM01303 features a 44mm steel brushed case with a deep blue dial with satiné soleil finishing, sandwich structure, numerals, and indexes in white Super-LumiNova with green luminescence. Waterproof up to 100 meters, the watch is somewhat similar to the PAM1110, PAM1218, and PAM1109, with primarily just aesthetic differences and Luna Rossa branding.
The watch comes with 2 straps in bi-material in technical fabric and rubber, one blue with Luna Rossa personalization, the other white with Luna Rossa personalization. PAM01303 is a limited edition of 1,000-pieces.

Panerai Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso PAM01074
Since first introduction in 2011, the bronzos have built a cult-like reputation and following amongst the Paneristi. The new PAM01074 is intended for exclusive sale at Panerai boutiques, available in a limited production of 1,000 pieces a year.
The deep blue and gold tones are a beautiful combination. Powering things on the inside is the P.900 caliber with a 3-day power reserve. Water-resistant up to 30 bar (about 300 meters deep), the Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso features a blue rubber strap and a trapezoidal pin buckle in bronze, appropriate for underwater activities. Also included is a second vintage suede leather strap for above water enjoyment.
